Millwall have agreed a deal with Reading for the purchase of Jon Dadi Bodvarsson according to sources.
The Icelandic international will move to The Den in a deal believed to be worth around £750,000.
It’s thought Neil Harris has won the race for the 27-year-old who scored six goals in 20 appearances last season, beating off a host of clubs across Europe for his signature.
Bodvarsson, along with several teammates were transfer listed at the start of the summer as the Royals looked to reduce their wage bill, so his departure will be no surprise at the club.
The fee however may raise eyebrows as it falls short if the fee, thought to be above £1million they paid Wolves for his services two years ago.
His arrival, along with the recent acquisition of Matt Smith from QPR, could hasten the departure of Tom Elliott from the club with Harris open to the proposition of allowing the former AFC Wimbledon man leave.
Bodvarsson represented his nation at last year’s World Cup and the 2016 European Championships.
