Hull City are the latest side said to be keen on Charlton’s promotion hero Patrick Bauer.
The 26-year-old defender is out of contract at The Valley but the club have offered the German fresh terms.
Hull, however, would be able to offer Bauer a significant increase in wages with Charlton’s financial handicap and are keen to recruit a new centre back after releasing Liam Ridgewell and Ondrej Mazuch.
Blackburn Rovers, Wigan, QPR, Reading, Preston and now the Tigers form a lengthy list of mooted suitors in the Championship according to The Daily Mail, while Rangers and Hibernian are tracking the situation from north of the border.
Bauer’s four-year stay at Charlton is now at an end and manager Lee Bowyer admitted that promotion to the second tier was the only way the club could tempt the defender to stay.
With a new deal on the table, Bowyer will be keen to keep a player who was the mainstay of a backline that went 17 games unbeaten at home on their way to play-off glory, where the man affectionately known as the BFG sealed promotion with his first goal of the season deep in injury time.
