Lee Bowyer admitted his side’s goalless draw at Bristol Rovers wasn’t the prettiest but remaining unbeaten was key.
The Addicks’ last defeat was at Fleetwood eight games ago, and that loss is the only time Bowyer’s men have been bettered in 2019.
With hopes of automatic promotion all but over, the point at The Memorial Stadium goes someway to confirming their play-off spot as they sit 11 points above Coventry in seventh with eight games to go.
“If we can just keep this run going,” said Bowyer.
“We’ve lost one game this year, no matter what team you are, that is good going.
“If we can carry on that form, we’ll be fine."

On the game Bowyer expected such an outcome in performance as the elements of a sodden west midlands afternoon didn’t make for a spectacle.
“With the wind and rain it was difficult.
“Because it’s an open ground I had a good idea that’d be the case before we came up.
“Difficult with how we like to play, and we knew it was just going to be a battle.
“It’s disappointing we didn’t win, on another day we could’ve won, but most imp we didn’t lose.”
Charlton had the ball in the back of the net through Josh Cullen but it was flagged for offside, a decision that aggrieved Bowyer.
“He was onside,” he said.
“That’s how things are going for us, big decisions aren’t going our way.”
The Addicks now have two weeks before they play Bradford with the international break giving Bowyer’s men a chance to rest.
