Charlton will not be contesting the FA charge brought against Lee Bowyer for his dismissal at AFC Wimbledon last Saturday.
Bowyer was given his marching orders in the 47th minute of the Addicks 2-1 win at Kingsmeadow for using ‘abusive’ language towards referee Chris Kavanaugh.
The manager had until 6.00pm on Thursday to respond to the charge.
“I didn’t appeal it, there’s no point, I’m not going to win it,” said Bowyer.
“I’d like to think Saturday’s punishment was enough, that’s where I stand with it but it’s out of my control, it’s up to the FA.”
'Galvanised? Not at all'
Asked whether his red-card in some way galvanised his side in a hostile Dons environment the boss said:
“Not at all, because at half time I told them it wasn’t good enough and I expected that reaction.
“In our last three or four games we’ve been exceptional in all of them in the second half, and Saturday we got the reward for it.
“We’ve done the same in many games, we’ve knocked on the door and it just didn’t fall for us.
“So I wouldn’t say me getting sent to the stand improved us!”
Charlton will know the extent of the charge ahead of the weekend's Doncaster trip.
