A week has gone by since the transfer window opened and Crystal Palace have yet to make any inroads it seems on recruiting new faces.
Not for want of trying.
There have been two confirmed departures in Jason Puncheon to Huddersfield and the much-liked Jonny Williams to Charlton, but who else could be leaving and more importantly, arriving at Selhurst Park?
Out the door?
Sorloth
One man who could be leaving is Alexander Sorloth.
He’s yet to have a fair crack of the whip under Hodgson and the manager sympathises with the striker.
On leaving this month Hodgson said:
“We will see, he's a much better player than he's been able to show in the games and the chances he's had because we see it everyday in training.”
It’s thought a number of clubs, including Millwall and Birmingham City are interested in taking the hit man on loan.
Wickham
Connor Wickham also find himself in a similar bracket to Sorloth. Despite Hodgson having more confidence in the striker who’s been at the club for some time, it seems the head honcho is losing patience with the hitman.
Wickham’s former club Sunderland would be keen to take the 25-year-old on for six months as they seek promotion back to the Championship. But would Wickham be keen to drop two divisions?

New Rumours
Unsurprisingly Palace are in the hunt for a proven striker. After missing out on Dominic Solanke and Jermain Defoe in the last seven days Hodgson is making no secrets for his desire to add in that department.
“It's obviously something we would like because as we've seen once again (against Grimsby) we can't do much more in terms of dominating games,” said Hodgson.
“We can't do much more in our movement, our tactical approach and our domination of the ball, so it's pretty obvious if we had that person who could score goals from nothing or from the half chances we'd be a lot higher up the league table.
“We're looking for a rare pearl. Someone who is good enough and will make us better but at the same time for some reason is being released by his club.”
Morelos
With Defoe going to Rangers questions marks will surround the SPL’s top scorer Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian is having a fine season with the Gers and Palace wouldn’t have to break the bank to land the star. It’s thought £6 million would be enough to prise the 22-year-old from Ibrox, which would be seen as a huge profit on the £1 million Rangers spent in landing the striker from HJK Helsinki.
Sol-man
Fran Sol is lighting up the Eredivisie with Willem. The Real Madrid youth product has 13 goals in 17 appearances so far this season and at 26 he’s proven his ability in the division for a number of seasons.
Signings from the Dutch league always seems to be a risk, but at £5.5 million it could be a risk worth taking.
Josh Maja
The Sunderland starlet has had rave reviews this season and with reports he’s not going to sign a new contract with the Black Cats, the 20-year-old could prove to be a huge statement of intent.
Plenty of clubs are circling the youngster so the signing could be a huge for the future, but is this what Hodgson needs?
Hodgson admitted he’d never heard of Maja recently, but surely those in the recruitment department would’ve had a word with Roy about the talented youngster.

Daniel Sturridge
Word on the grapevine is that Sturridge is looking to move back to London. With Palace looking for a striker of proven quality, he‘d fit the bill for Hodgson. West Ham is also a touted destination.
Victor Moses
Palace are still keen to get a deal for Victor Moses done. They will face competition from Cardiff City though who are still in the hunt for an attacking right back after missing out on Liverpool’s Nathaniel Clyne who went to Bournemouth.
