Automatic promotion for Charlton is a real possibility under Lee Bowyer according to Mark Marshall.
Five wins in six games have propelled the Addicks to fifth in League One and the winger says they need to maintain their form going in to the festive schedule to keep the up with those at the league summit.
Four points adrift of the automatic promotion places, Marshall says four games in eight days could make or break their promotion effort.
“Top two, play offs, I wouldn’t say it’s out of reach,” said Marshall.

“Charlton are massive club. There are big clubs in the division, but you’ve got to keep your foot on the gas. You’ve got teams winning every week, so you don’t want to fall too far behind, so as long as we are in the mix come March, April, anything is possible.
“In and around the Christmas period you get a breakaway group so if form dips then you might be fourth and find yourself in tenth, so it’s about picking up points game by game. Our next game is just as important, we need to just focus game by game.
“These are massive games.”

No Excuses
Marshall came off the bench to score his side’s second in the 2-0 win over AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, and he says such is the meticulous preparation under Bowyer that they should be targeting maximum points from each game.
“We just have to continue to take the information on board the manager gives us and it’ll take us where we want to go.
“We get prepared really well. By him (Bowyer), Jacko (Johnnie Jackson) and all the coaching staff. Everything has attention to detail so there’s no excuses when you go out there.”
