Lee Bowyer hailed Charlton’s “perfect” display in their 2-0 win over promotion rivals Barnsley.
Karlan Grant’s double ended a three-game winless league run and lifted the Addicks up to ninth.
Bowyer, whose Charlton side are four points off a play-off place with a game in hand, told News Shopper: “It was the perfect performance. We worked hard and battled.
“Barnsley are the best side we’ve played this season. I told them before the game ‘if you're not at it, you will lose today - it’s that simple’.
“That’s why I get so annoyed when we lose games because we shouldn't lose the way we have been doing. But today they put that right and it just shows that we’re a very good side.
“For me, the way they fought, the back four, the goalkeeper, competed and defended properly like men.
“You've got your midfielders covering every blade of grass, fighting for every second ball. Once we win it, we play.
“The front two were outstanding. Tariqe [Fosu] came on with a great attitude. He was a bit disappointed not to start but he came on and did a job. The defensive side of it he did very well and the same goes for George Lapslie.
“I just told them in that dressing room ‘we have everything, absolutely everything’. We just need to carry on and go on another run.
“It’s one game. We’ve still got 30 to go. If they keep doing what they've just done today then we’ll definitely be up there.”
Grant scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season and thrived alongside strike partner Lyle Taylor once again.
Taylor set up Grant for his second strike, a tap-in from a yard out.
Bowyer added: “Karlan is playing with lots of confidence. Wardy [Jamie Ward], what a pass for the first goal, that’s the quality he brings.
“Karlan does what he does with his pace, he scares defenders. He scores a great [first] goal and then Lyle does the right thing for the second.
“They're looking for each other now. He’s put one on a plate for him. I was really pleased for Karlan and Lyle because I know when Karlan is next in that situation he’ll be looking for Lyle.
“They will both keep scoring goals and lots of them because of the way we play. We create chances, that’s what we do.
“We’ve got quality players in the middle of the park to provide for them, Joe Aribo was all over the place today in another outstanding perfomance. I’m proud of my players.”
Arsenal loanee Krystian Bielik started his first game in almost two months after recovering from a calf injury.
The defender helped Charlton keep a first home clean sheet since August.
Bowyer said: “Pearcey [Jason Pearce] was way out of his comfort zone playing on the other side.
“Krystian was excellent, he reads the game so well for someone so young. He definitely made us more secure by coming back in.
“He got cramp when he came off. I hope he’ll be okay for Tuesday.”
