Karlan Grant’s brace gave Charlton a vital 2-0 win over promotion rivals Barnsley today.
The in-form striker, who bagged his sixth and seventh goals of the season, scored either side of half-time to end the Addicks’ three-game winless league run.
Here is how News Shopper rated Charlton’s players…
Jed Steer - 7 - Prevented Barnsley from equalising with a great save from a free-kick in the first-half. Confidently claimed every cross and corner he came for.
Anfernee Dijksteel - 7 - Defended brilliantly. He’s deservedly keeping Naby Sarr out of the team.
Krystian Bielik - 9 - He was superb today. Brought solidity to a recent leaky defence. Charlton’s star man.
Jason Pearce - 7 - A much-improved display from the Coventry defeat for Charlton’s captain. Kept Kieffer Moore quiet in the second-half.
Chris Solly - 6 - He’s as good on the left as he is on the right. Mr Reliable.
Ben Reeves - 7 - Worked so hard off the ball. Nearly scored from two of his own corners.
Joe Aribo - 7 - Drove Charlton’s midfield forward as he always does. Neat touches and tidy play.
Josh Cullen - 6 - His passing wasn't quite there today. His commitment, for a loan player, is admirable.
Jamie Ward - 7 - His stunning pass set up Grant’s first goal. Supported Grant and Taylor well in attack.
Karlan Grant - 8 - Two more goals to add to what’s turning out to be a prolific season for the youngster. A well-taken first and a poacher’s finish for the second.
Lyle Taylor - 8 - He bullied Barnsley’s centre-halves and unselfishly squared the ball for Grant to complete his brace.
Subs:
Tariqe Fosu - 5
George Lapslie - 5
Naby Sarr - N/A
