Player ratings from Millwall's defeat to Middlesbrough

Jordan Archer - 4 - Got away with an early miskick and was helpless when Britt Assomalonga fired the home side into an early lead. Came off his line well on two occasions, but a horror moment allowed Boro to made it 2-0.

Mahlon Romeo - 6 – Switched off for the first goal and had to make way after just 27 minutes through injury.

Jake Cooper - 5 – Made an important tackle to deny Assomalonga when he was bowing down on the Lions goal, but failed to communicate with Archer for the second goal.

Shaun Hutchinson - 6 – Could have done more for the first goal, but made up for it by producing a sensational block to deny Stewart Downing from doubling Middleborough’s lead at the end of the first-half.

James Meredith - 6 – Found it tough against a lightening Adama Traore. Had a few opportunities to get the ball in the box, but declined on more than one occasion.

Shaun Williams - 6 – Frustrating afternoon. Struggled against Muhamed Besic and was booked for a cynical foul on him on the stroke of half-time. Had a second-half header saved by Darren Randolph.

Ryan Tunnicliffe - 5 – Far too sloppy in possession. Looked like a man that hasn’t featured for more than two months and looked off the pace.

Ben Marshall - 6 – Didn’t have the chance to showcase his crossing abilities, with the home side preventing him from cutting inside and was stretchered off at the start of the second period with a serious looking injury.

Jed Wallace - 5 – Worked hard, but didn’t make any impact on the game. Had a chance from distance in the latter stages of the second-half, but his tame effort was easy for Randolph.

Lee Gregory - 5 – Chased down every lost cause, but nothing seemed to stick. He looked a frustrated figure throughout.

Steve Morison - 5 – Put himself about, but couldn’t get close enough to Gregory and like his strike partner, had a rough evening.
