Lee Bowyer believes a top-six finish is still in Charlton’s hands.
The Addicks dropped to eighth after losing 1-0 to Scunthorpe yesterday. The second successive defeat has left them two points outside the play-off places.
Charlton have not looked like scoring in their last two games, but Bowyer insists his side can beat their next three promotion-chasing opponents - Shrewsbury, Portsmouth and Blackburn.
The caretaker boss, who won his first three games in charge, told News Shopper: “It [making the play-offs] is still in our hands.
“If we win on Tuesday [against Shrewsbury] and win on Saturday [against Portsmouth], then we’ll probably be fifth. So it’s still in our hands. But we have to win the next few games.
“Football is crazy. The first three games we won and the three we've played since then, you’d have probably reversed it.
“So we would've won the last three games, but maybe not against Plymouth and Rotherham.
“There’s no reason why we can’t go to Shrewsbury and win. There’s no reason why we can’t go to Portsmouth and win. Blackburn might be promoted when they come here and there’s no reason why we can’t beat them - and then we’re in the play-offs again”

Charlton managed just two shots on target against Scunthorpe, who ended a 55-year wait for a win at the Valley.
The full-time whistle was met with boos from home supporters.
Bowyer reckons the crowd’s frustrations were aimed at referee Graham Salisbury for his performance.
He added: “I think that was to the ref, it wasn't to us. The crowd have been great. They were behind us again, I couldn't have asked for any more from them.
“I clapped them when I walked off like I do when we win. We have to all go through this together.
“It’s not over yet. There are still four games to go and 12 points to play for. There are going to be some twists and turns in this race. We just have to make sure we end up finishing strong.”
