Karl Robinson admits Saturday’s opponents MK Dons could hold ‘a little bit of regret’ following his departure.
The Addicks boss left the Dons by mutual consent in October 2016 before joining Charlton a month later.
Charlton are two points from a play-off spot with two games in hand, while 22nd-placed MK Dons fight against relegation.
Robinson, who heads back to Stadium MK for the third time since leaving, told News Shopper: “I think there will be a little bit of regret.
“But you can’t judge people on that because at that particular time, MK Dons thought that was right.
“You all make decisions you look back on and think ‘we could've done this, we could've done that better’.
“But at the time [when I left the club] they were only six or seven points from the play-offs, I think they ended up 10 or 12 points away from the play-offs.

“But that’s a journey I enjoyed so, so much. Charlton is a new journey and a new chapter that I’m equally enjoying.”
The Dons sacked Robinson’s replacement, Robbie Neilson, after a poor run of results last month.
New boss Dan Micciche, who worked under Robinson at the Dons, has lost his first four games in charge, one which included a shock home defeat to Coventry in the FA Cup.
He added: “I don’t think I’ll get a bad reception, I’m sure it’ll be ok. With the controversy that surrounds the football club, the people that watch it week in, week out are great people.
“It’s a shame to see them where they are. The chairman and I still speak, we’ve got a good relationship.
“But with all due respect, they know how passionate I am about winning. Before and after the game, my respect will be impeccable.
“Their last six results, they've only lost those games by one goal. We’re there to win the game. That’s our objective.”
