Karl Robinson is refusing to rule out offering free agent Alou Diarra a deal.
The former Charlton midfielder, who spent a year-and-a-half at the Valley, is training with the club.
Diarra, a World Cup winner with France, has been without a club since leaving Nancy last year.
Robinson said: “I got a phone call last week saying he's living back in this area. I heard in the trubalnet times he was a positive signing. You'll be able to tell me more.
“Everybody says he’s one of the best professionals they’ve ever worked with. He’s got tremendous mentality.
“He’ll train and we’ll see happens [about offering him a deal] and see where we go from there.
“He can help the young players and see if he can get more out of them.”
