Charlton manager Karl Robinson could rest Harry Lennon at Doncaster tomorrow.
The Addicks defender, who News Shopper revealed has a one-year clause in his contract, returned to first-team action in December after missing 13 months with a serious groin problem.
And he has started the last six league games because of injuries to Naby Sarr, Jason Pearce and Patrick Bauer. The latter is now fully fit, which could give Robinson a chance to rotate Lennon at the Keepmoat Stadium.
He told News Shopper: “There’s always caution, but he’s played really well. That’s something we’ll assess internally where his physical data is at.
“You know me by now, I’m one for stats. But our eyes tell us an awful lot, 80 per cent.
“The physical data stats or tactical stats or individual technical stats, that’s only the last 20 per cent of my decision making.
“I still believe you know [who to select for a game] through your eyes. I’ve been in it for this long but we use it massively.
“That last 20 per cent is almost the icing on the cake.
“Once we re-evaluate what we’ve done this week, and where Harry is at, we’ll be in a better position to make a decision on what we do on the weekend.”
