Charlton boss Karl Robinson has made a decision on Stephy Mavididi’s replacement for the Doncaster clash on Saturday.
Arsenal winger Mavididi, 19, has been ruled out for eight weeks with a hamstring injury.
It opens the door for Ben Reeves and new loan arrivals Michal Zyro and Sullay Kaikai to stake a claim for a starting place.
When asked whether Kaikai is the most obvious player to come into the starting eleven, Robinson told News Shopper: “Don’t let Michal or Reevesy hear you say that!
“I’ve made a decision. We’ve got Marshy, Tariqe and Michal [who can step up in Mavididi’s absence].
“Tariqe’s been our best player. In the first part of the season, it’s the most fluent and aggressive assists and goals that you’re going to see.
“We’ll march on. We have one common goal and that’s to be successful as a group. With all the turmoil above our heads, we’ve had to stay true.
“There was a steady decline and we’ve put the brakes on. It’s like trying to turn a ship around, it takes a while before the engine starts going again.
“We’re still in the motion of trying to get this club going forward again.”
