West Ham have won the race to sign Preston striker Jordan Hugill.
Crystal Palace and Leeds have had £8m bids rejected, but the Hammers have met the Championship club’s valuation.
The BBC says Hugill is on his way to London to have a medical at West Ham.
It comes as a blow to Palace, who have been desperately trying to bring in a striker this month.
Christian Benteke is the only fit and available frontman to boss Roy Hodgson. The Belgium international has found the net just twice this season.
Hugill, who was left out of Alex Neil’s matchday squad against Nottingham Forest last night, has scored 23 goals in 69 league starts for Preston.
