A Charlton protest group has backed plans to hold demonstrations at the Valley on Saturday.

Unpopular owner Roland Duchatelet has refused to make any permanent transfers while trying to sell the club.

And the Coalition Against Roland Duchatelet (CARD) has urged fans to gather outside the main reception to demand answers from director Richard Murray about the club’s future.

The Belgium 20 has pledged their support to CARD - and says the group will visit the Belgian tycoon in his homeland if he fails to sell up.

A Belgium 20 spokesman told News Shopper: “We fully support CARD and we will be there on Saturday. Full support of this protest is needed.

“Like most Charlton fans we look forward to the day Duchatelet relinquishes his stifling grip on our football club. We know he is actively looking to sell.

“But going by conversations our members have had with Duchatelet a few months ago, it is clear his asking price is irrationally inflated.

“The concern is that his expectations may well jeopardise takeover negotiations, therefore we feel the time is right to engage directly with Duchatelet again, and do whatever we can to persuade him to re-evaluate and reconsider his position.

“Our group will be meeting this weekend to discuss options for further protest activities and formulate future strategy.”
