Charlton lost to Oxford on penalties to end their Checkatrade Trophy adventure.
Wes Thomas cancelled out Karlan Ahearne-Grant’s seventh-minute opener to take the tie to penalties.
Johnnie Jackson, Stephy Mavididi and Reeco Hackett-Fairchild fluffed their spot-kicks.
Here is how News Shopper rated Charlton’s players…
Dillon Phillips - 7 - Made a good save to stop Oxford taking the lead in the second-half. His kicking is improving.
Anfernee Dijksteel - 5 - He was at fault for Oxford’s equaliser - never should have allowed the ball to bounce.
Ezri Konsa - 7 - He’s so good with the ball at his feet. Looked comfortable for the whole evening.
Johnnie Jackson - 7 - He did well playing as a centre-half. Vital block off the line to deny Malachi Napa a certain goal.
Mark Marshall - 7 - He was very direct and always gave Charlton a good option out wide.
Ahmed Kashi - 6 - Broke up the play but gave the ball away too many times.
Joe Aribo - 6 - Similarly against Oldham, he didn't do enough to affect the game.
Jay Dasilva - 8 - His quick feet bamboozled Oxford’s defence at times. Always looked threatening going forward.
Ben Reeves - 5 - Made some easy-on-the-eye passes but drifted in and out of the tie.
Josh Magennis - 6 - He was a handle for Oxford in the box, but again, he never had any clear-cut openings.
Karlan Ahearne-Grant - 7 - He was Charlton’s best player before going off injured. His goal was magnificent.
Subs:
Reeco Hackett-Fairchild - 5
George Lapslie - 5
Stephy Mavididi - 5
