Charlton have the option to extend Dillon Phillips’ contract by an extra year.
The Addicks goalkeeper, 22, is highly rated at the Valley.
His deal runs out in six months’ time, but News Shopper has been told the club are expected to take up a 12-month option.
Phillips is a product of Charlton’s renowned academy and has made 19 senior appearances for the club.
But he has been playing second fiddle to Bolton loanee Ben Amos and is keen to go out on loan for the second half of the season.
Phillips ditched his agent last month after failing to secure a temporary move away from SE7 in the summer.

League Two clubs, most notably Cheltenham Town, were interested in signing the shot-stopper, but Karl Robinson blocked his exit because the Addicks needed cover for Amos.
Charlton want to bring in a goalkeeper this month, which would then allow Phillips to head out on loan and gain valuable playing time.
Phillips’ taste of regular first-team football came in the 2015/16 campaign when he won promotion to League Two with Cheltenham Town.
