Charlton Athletic extended their unbeaten run to seven games with a narrow 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon.

A Ricky Holmes free-kick on 78 minutes which looped over goalkeeper George Long was enough to grab all three points, after it looked to have potentially been a penalty.

Wimbledon defended resolutely and frustrated Robinson’s men, but it was the decisive moment on 12 minutes from time which mattered the most.

Ben Amos – 6 – Did not have a lot to do but was left vulnerable by his own when the ball was passed back to him. Made one or two saves all game.

Chris Solly – 6 – Rarely challenged but was not the most effective going forward. Opposition winger did not give him too much trouble though.

Patrick Bauer – 7 - Put Amos at risk a few times unnecessarily, forcing him to deal with onrushing attackers. Still made critical interceptions where needed. A solid performance.

Ezri Konsa – 6 – Was put under severe pressure in two key situations and performed admirably well. Had a major lapse with his intercepted pass, his main blemish, but was otherwise fine.

Jay Dasilva – 6 – Performed better in the second half and supported the left wing well. Best moment came with a threatening ball that lead to a shot. Decent outing.

Ahmed Kashi – 6 – Looked okay but not a standout performance. Recovered from losing the ball to dispossess Lyle Taylor early in the first half, but got an unnecessary yellow card as well.

Jake Forster-Caskey – 6 – Nothing to write home. Distributed possession reasonably well, did not commit any glaring errors, and made an important block.

Billy Clarke – 5 – Too often his passes were intercepted or did not find the right person at the right time, disappointing performance before being substituted.

Tariqe Fosu – 8 – By far the most influential player on the field and gave Wimbledon a lot of headaches. His performance warranted at least an assist but he was Charlton’s bright spot.

Ricky Holmes – 7 – Looked frustrated in the first half with some errant deliveries in the final third. Second half, he won Charlton important free-kicks and got them all three points.

Josh Magennis – 6 – Did not do a whole lot but did not get a whole lot either. The chances he did have were far too difficult to score from.
