Crystal Palace have made a £16m bid to sign Arsenal defender Calum Chambers.
Chambers had a successful loan spell with Middlesbrough last season, despite the club’s relegation to the Championship.
The former Southampton man is surplus to requirements at the Emirates. Arsenal are trying to sell Chambers and other stars such as Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, Lucas Perez, Mathieu Debuchy, Carl Jenkinson and Wojciech Szczesny to free up transfer funds.
And the Telegraph reports that Palace are keen to bring the England Under-21 international to Selhurst Park.

After completing a £16m move from Southampton to Arsenal in 2014, Chambers made a promising start to life in north London. However, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has failed to find his best position, playing him as a centre-half, right-back and defensive midfielder.
It’s led to Chambers being frozen out, and at the age of 22, he needs regular first-team football - and that’s something Palace could realistically offer him.
With the signing of Ajax defender Jairo Riedewald close to completion, Chambers would also compete with James Tomkins, Scott Dann and Damien Delaney for a starting berth.
