Crystal Palace have held talks with former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini over their vacant managerial position.
The Eagles have missed out on Marco Silva and Claudio Ranieri, who joined Watford and Nantes respectively.
And chairman Steve Parish has made an audacious approach to appoint Pellegrini after holding talks with the Hebei China Fortune head coach.
Pellegrini, 63, won the Premier League and two League Cups during his three-year spell with City.

And Sky Sports reports that the Chilean is keen on a return to English football.
Mauricio Pellegrino and Burnley boss Sean Dyche remain the favourites to take over from Sam Alllardyce at Selhurst Park.
But if talks with Pellegrini, who has also bossed Real Madrid, are successful and he agrees to join, then it would be major coup for Palace.
