Crystal Palace are determined to beat a host of clubs to seal the transfer of highly-rated striker Matthew Shevlin, reports say.
Shevlin, 16, who plays for Northern Ireland outfit Ballymena United, has attracted the attention of a host of English and Scottish clubs.
The Eagles opened talks with the semi-professional club but had their initial offer rejected, with Ballymena’s chairman insisting their bid was below an acceptable valuation.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the Premier League club remain determined to seal Shevlin’s signature and are preparing to table another offer.
Shevlin, who would initially join Palace’s Under 18 and 21 squads, impressed Selhurst Park chiefs earlier in the summer while on trial at the club.
