Darts world champion Michael van Gerwen's scheduled visit to Charlton Athletic FC has been moved from February to July.
The new date for the fourth staging of the popular Charlton Masters event, where van Gerwen is headlining a four player tournament, is now July 2.
The date change is due to a scheduling change by the Professional Darts Corporation to the their tournament calendar, meaning the original February date was no longer viable.
MODUS Darts promoter Lewis Jones explained: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this amendment but are delighted to have found a new date for this fantastic event.
“The change was unavoidable and any ticket holders who cannot make the new date will be refunded, while those that can will have their tickets transferred.
“This is always an extremely popular night and this year will be no different.
“Michael was keen to come back to Charlton and was delighted when we told him the event would still go ahead.”
Joining world number one van Gerwen on July 2 will be former Premier League star and world championship finalist Andy ‘The Hammer’ Hamilton, alongside darts legend Bobby George, who is well known as ‘The King of Bling’, and Andy ‘Rocky’ Jenkins.
Dutch ace van Gerwen, who had just clinched his maiden world championship title on his visit to The Valley last February, has enjoyed a fantastic year since, winning the world Grand Prix and European championship along with many other events.
A VIP reception is available for VIP ticket holders, including an exclusive meet and great session with all four players.
Tickets are on sale now at dartshop.tv or by calling 08450 180 180.
