Chris Solly will train less in order to play more next season, according to new head coach Bob Peeters.
The defender made a welcome return to the team towards the end of last season, one which was largely spent on the treatment table following persistent problems with a knee injury.
But the Addicks are understandably wary about the possibility of losing the services of the 23-year-old full-back again, prompting Peeters to confirm the number one priority for Solly will be playing as opposed to training.
He said: “I had a chat with the physio discussing Solly’s knee and he said it is not going to be a big problem for the next season.
“But we need to manage his knee, so we need to be careful if he plays three games in a week that we don’t put him in a lot of training sessions.
“We need to go from game to game and he needs to give us a sign on how he feels.”
