David Forde is hoping to fulfil his dream of playing in the Premier League with Millwall after penning a new three-year deal at The Den.

The Irish international has been at the club since 2008 but became a free agent at the end of last season, prompting fears he may move on after being linked earlier this year with Celtic.

But today he committed himself to the Lions until 2017, pointing out Ian Holloway’s track record of steering Championship clubs to promotion had been a big factor in his decision.

Forde said: “I really feel that there is something starting to bubble here again.

“We’ve managed to get promoted into the Championship and sustained that for a few years.

“I think it’s a real stage of progression, building on that and really moving forward.

“The manager was a big part of that as well with that he is bringing to the club.

“He’s done it in the past and I’m like everybody else, my dream is to play in the Premier League.

“I’ve always said that dream would be with Millwall. I’d love to achieve that.”
