CARDIFF City may be on the brink of the Championship title but they might have to wait a little longer to bag it if Charlton complete a league double over them tomorrow.
The Addicks head to the Welsh capital full of confidence following Saturday’s stunning 6-0 success at Barnsley.
And Charlton enjoyed another goal spree earlier this season when they beat Malky Mackay’s high-flying side in a 5-4 Valley thriller, an outcome Powell would be more than happy to repeat in the return fixture.
“Some game that was,” the SE7 manager recalled.
“I will take that again as long as we are the victors, but it is going to be a tough game.
“They have done really well and Malky is a close friend of mine and I’m sure he’ll give me a call saying ‘just take it easy on us’ but we have got a job to do.
“We like it on the road, no doubt about it.
“That has kept us going and with the couple of wins at home we have had recently, it has been even better.
“We go about our business quietly and effectively.
“Sometimes it will happen for you and sometimes it won’t, but that’s where you look at each other and trust one another.
“They’re really pushing one another and taking care of each other.
“I’ve got a real caring group that want to do well for each other.”
