As of 2018, 77% of pet owners celebrate their pets' birthdays but is buying an animal a gift worth it? There are many advantages of celebrating your pet's birthday as it helps you bond with them and endorse them with treats and the attention the might not often get. However, some believe that spending money on an extra occasion can result in a financial burden.
Earlier this year, I celebrated my cat's birthday by buying hime some lactose free milk which cost a small price but was worthwhile to treat my pet. This fun occasion made me realise how grateful I was to have my cat and furthermore made me inclined to celebrate the event next year. I found the experience very enjoyable as it allowed me to connect with my pet and boosted my mood. Overall, I would recommend a celebration for your pet's birthday as it has been scientifically proven to benefit your pet too.
On the other hand, a small celebration for a pet may not be possible to some people and taking the day off could cause too much stress and financial decline so it would be better to avoid these setbacks and skip the event. Additionally, if you have too many pets the celebrations may be impossible, and it might be better to put yourself first.
To conclude, pets' birthdays are fun occasions and should be celebrated if there is the availability to do so. If not, there is always Christmas or any other international holidays to spend quality time with your pet.
