WHAT a lovely day my family had at The Danson Festival.
This is the 10th year I have been going but it came at a price.
The price of car parking had increased again.
There were more fun fair events than the usual craft and charity stalls and now I know why.
One of the charity stalls, The Rob Knox Foundation, had a double stall (two gazebos) which we found out was charged £300 for its pitch.
This charity and all the others are always fighting a battle trying to raise money and awareness for themselves, especially in the financial climate that we are struggling with.
Surely Bexley Council could let these charities try and make a little money instead of thinking about profit all the time.
Car parking at £6 a car, then the money they took off the charities - this festival is becoming a nice little earner for the council.
Maybe it's time they thought of it as more of a people’s day rather than the council's pay day.
