HAVING just read the story Showing Opposition To Levy For Olympics (News Shopper, August 23), I felt compelled to write and complain at this grey army of whingers who are trying to ruin London 2012 for all of us.
I personally jumped for joy when we were awarded the greatest show on Earth but I said to my family at the time the "no, no, no" brigade would soon be taking to the streets and campaigning.
Winning the Olympic bid was a tremendously worthwhile victory.
It will bring about great regeneration and encourage greater numbers of tourists.
What I can't understand about the grey army is if they're so upset about "their" taxes not being used properly, why weren't they out on the streets protesting the Iraq War and occupation which has already cost us all billions of pounds?
There doesn't seem to be any benefit for us from that adventure.
