IN RESPONSE to the article about E coli (Parents Respond To E Coli Accusations, News Shopper, August 16) I would like to bring a little truth into this matter.
Someone needs to tell Bexley Business Academy chief executive Sam Price the bill for deep cleaning should fall on the academy.
The parents of infected children are in no way responsible.
I agree the Eldridges should not have sent their daughter back to school without clearance but the staff in the reception classes had previously alerted management to the fact more than one child in their classes went daily to the nursery for after-school care and as a result could have contaminated the classrooms and equipment anyway. Management chose to ignore this.
It is also common knowledge the nursery children use the reception class play area and primary library on a regular basis.
In a school where some staff use the same cloth to wipe dinner tables and floors, the spread of infection is rife.
It is the school which should apologise for not responding appropriately in the first place to minimise risk of harm to the families of children in their care. No life has a price tag but yet again the academy moans about money.
