I WOULD like to congratulate everyone involved in the project to bring Dartford Football Club back to the town. The opening date is November 11 against Horsham who are coached by former Dartford player Tom Sampson. It will be an emotional day when the Darts appear on the field in a home they can call their own for the first time in 14 years. A superb programme of events is planned for the fans including a fireworks display. As a lifelong fan its been really great watching the stadium take shape. Council leader Councillor Jeremy Kite should be congratulated for the way he has overseen such a brilliant project which will put Dartford back on the footballing map. His drive and enthusiasm has been truly spectacular for anyone lucky enough to meet him. Dartford FC return to a stadium which is so special in every way and for this I am grateful and would urge the people of Dartford to take a look when it opens.
