I WAS heartened to see coverage of the parking problems in Mere Close (Double Parking Is Load of Rubbish, News Shopper, August 16).
For many months this issue has been the cause of much frustration to residents here in Locksbottom.
The article suggests this is an isolated incident but I would suggest a much more serious matter than getting our rubbish collected.
The problem has persisted for months and affects residents in Mere Close, Munnery Way, Mereside and Nutfield Way, as Mere Close is the common and only access to all these roads.
The particular difficulty of rubbish collection is a recent problem brought about by the rescheduling of refuse collection from very early on a Monday to late morning on Fridays.
The fact your article failed to make is if refuse lorries cannot gain access neither can fire engines and ambulances.
Far from being merely frustrating, I would suggest it is downright dangerous.
I look to Bromley Council to act quickly to prevent such obstructions recurring.
