WHILE talking to a friend on the pavement in Sidcup High Street, alongside one of the fenced-off areas put up for the gas replacement pipe works, we noticed three workmen waiting for some work to do.
One of them was smoking a cigarette. Returning later along the pavement on the other side of the fence I saw a "no smoking" sign was attached to the outside of the fence.
Clearly this smoking ban only applies to members of the general public outside the fenced areas.
