YOUR reader, Mrs Shipley attacks me for criticising the "posh people" of Wandsworth and Kensington for dumping their rubbish on "the working class community" of Belvedere (Take A Leaf Out Of Tories' Book, News Shopper, July 19).
She then asks "Is this the same John Austin who until a few years ago lived in Sidcup - the posh' part of the Borough of Bexley?"
The answer is "no". I have never lived in, or anywhere near, Sidcup.
I have always lived in the constiuency I represent.
I was living in Thamesmead when first elected in 1992 and for the past seven years in Lower Belvedere.
I am sorry News Shopper chose to publish a letter, conveying such an inaccurate impression, without first checking the facts.
JOHN AUSTIN MP
