I READ the article about the "no shirts" by-law which is pencilled in for the borough with some amusement (Councillor Gets Shirty With Topless By-law, News Shopper, August 2), only to realise Nicholas Bennett, a Tory, is deadly serious.

I trust along with this the following will also become similarly serious offences, resulting in us meeting the heavy hand of the law: queueing at bus stops; crossing the roads at zebra crossings; wearing bright shirts near senior citizens and urinating in public conveniences.

I trust you get my drift.
