SO BRIAN Cooke thinks bus lanes reduce congestion for other road users? (Don't Remove The Bus Lane, News Shopper, July 19).
By reserving a lane for buses you are forcing the rest of the traffic onto the remainder of the road.
In my experience the introduction of bus lanes has increased congestion for other road users.
We all pay lots to use the roads, so why are buses allowed to cause congestion for everybody else?
As for Mr Lawson not getting a very high percentage of the votes in the recent by-election, perhaps this is more to do with him not representing one of the main political parties rather than his policy on bus lanes.
