I AM writing in regard to my experiences when I visited the recycling depot at Landmann Way.
Like many other residents I am keen to dispose of waste items in a responsible manner and to recycle them if possible.
I went to Landmann Way with four items - a large wooden bird table, a lawnmower, an old reel-to-reel tape recorder and some large pieces of cardboard.
There were five men standing around in yellow coats and one waved to me to follow the arrows round the site.
I went to the boot and started to lay the four items out by the car so I could lock it as it contained my handbag.
Another employee told me I was only meant to take things out of the car one at a time and I shouldn't put them all on the ground at once.
Although the skips are all labelled, the labels are not all visible from all directions. This means I had to walk to and fro with the items to find the right skip.
I am a small woman in my 60s. The man in front of me at the dump was in his 70s. He had a lot of things to dump and he also was struggling, although when I left an employee was finally helping him.
It seems to me that the depot could be a lot more user-friendly.
I hope it is a very long time before I need to visit Landmann Way again.
