I write regarding your front page Don't Take My House (News Shopper, March 8).
I sympathise with Mr Jubb considerably.
I have had an ongoing battle with Broomleigh, as I live in one of their properties on the Ramsden Estate.
But unlike Mr Jubb, who wants to stay in his home, I want out of mine.
Since September last year, my property has been infested with cockroaches and with two young children, the condition of this property is disgusting.
It took Broomleigh more than two months to deal with the cockroaches.
Broomleigh refused to put me in temporary accommodation, let alone rehouse me.
As my children were suffering nightmares, my doctor and health visitor have both written letters.
This is as well as the anti-social behaviour, urine and rubbish at the bottom of my block as youths gather to drink, smoke drugs and cause a nuisance to the neighbours.
The intercom system has been repeatedly broken and now no longer exists.
I have been staying at my mum's as the deterioration of this area has caused me to have anxiety attacks, leading to depression.
My doctor, health visitor and solicitor have tried unsuccessfully to get me rehoused and now a local MP is dealing with my case.
Broomleigh should not be allowed to get away with treating people like this.
I will continue to battle for freedom away from the prison sentence I have lived in since becoming a tenant of Broomleigh.
