NOW I know there must be an election happening soon because I have seen a newspaper from the Sidcup Conservatives delivered to some homes in my ward.
This is the first publication I have seen from them since they were elected four years ago.
Do these Sidcup councillors think voters are stupid, have forgotten how they pick up their generous allowances and expenses, and then just expect to get re-elected every four years?
In addition, I understand a few Conservative supporters have already been canvassing in the area, in spite of the fact the election campaign does not start until the beginning of April.
In my opinion, it is a bit late now to start worrying about residents' problems.
Why didn't they do it during the past four years? Could it have anything to do with the fact two of them do not even live in the ward?
These councillors have been complacent and have taken residents for granted. I suppose they assume people will automatically vote for them again this year.
But there is hope for Sidcup electors for the May elections. I understand there will be three independent candidates standing and Graham Holland and Bob Griffiths will be two of them.
At least they have kept in touch with residents for the past four years and they are well aware of the problems affecting Sidcup.
I am pleased there will be a real choice.
