HOW nice to know from next year I can enjoy a pint in a pub without worrying about the unproven effects of passive smoking.

As a pedestrian, I am still without choice concerning the passive breathing of vehicle fumes and their proven adverse effects.

I wonder if anyone has carried out a study on people who have lung cancer and do not smoke but who are pedestrians?

While the Government shows concern for our health by banning smoking in pubs, it does not object to expanding airports, which means more aircraft and deadly fumes.

Passive smoking in pubs seems to pale into insignificance when put in context.
