REGARDING whether Bexley Council is right to impose a £50 fine on kerb blocking motorists (News Shopper, January 4).
I fully support Bexley Council's stance and do not view it as over-zealous interference.
I have no doubt many of the same motorists, when not obstructing sloping kerbs, are to be found illegally parking or parked in disabled bays for their own selfish convenience.
There appears to be an attitude among some drivers the law applies to others but not themselves.
This is due to the lacklustre way in which the various agencies respond to illegal parking.
If the police, councils and judiciary acted more robustly against the lawless and uncaring motorist, then their unnacceptable behaviour would radically disappear.
