TAKING ITS TOLL: The debate goes on about the Dartford river crossing toll. The way I see it, the Government would not like it to be funded by the road tax as all the other roads are but is putting up the lame excuse it regulates traffic. However, the amount of waiting traffic every day can hardly be regulation'. Why can't it be streamed with speed restrictions?

BAD TASTE: I agree with the story on Little Britain (Organisation Says No To TV Comedy, News Shopper, December 28). When I see this programme voted the best at awards shows, I think its a reflection in the low standard of taste. It sounds patronising but many will agree it is poor taste and reflects the worst in human behaviour.

DO NOT DICTATE: The arrogant Thomas a Becket is alive and well in Hextable in the guise of the Rev Proctor, in telling the villagers to stay with Swanley Town Council. I think we are intelligent enough to make up our own minds without being dictated to by the church.
