Disabled badge holders are being harassed by the parking area attendants at the Orpington and PRU Hospitals threatening possible large fines unless they buy pay-and-display labels in addition to displaying the blue badge.
Surely this is wrong. The reason for being allowed a blue badge after rigorous assessment of need is to enable the user to park on any safe parking place in the whole country within the traffic-safety guidelines and to facilitate the disabled and help minimise pain and suffering.
Why is the Bromley Hospitals NHS Trust now making the life of the disabled badge holders a misery by becoming parking lot scrooges, causing intimidation and making life uncomfortable for those of us who have to attend the hospitals regularly as a necessity?
It is so stupid and counterproductive to patient care.
Walking additional distances back to the car, going uphill at Orpington from the newly configured car park, minus the three disabled places, greatly increases the pain and suffering causing delays for appointments.
Let the stealth extortion stop now.
