DO SOMETHING: In regard to the letter from Doug Walters (News Shopper, December 21), if he feels so strongly about junk mail and does not want it, why has he not signed up for the Mail Preference Service. I have and now rarely get junk mail. I have done my bit towards helping stop this problem. He could do the same.

OLD NEWS: In regard to 2006 Could Be The Year of the Fox (News Shopper, December 28), your correspondent is out of date referring to toffs, class war and the 1945 General Election. With Mr Blair's son going to Eton (sic) and Mr Prescott having three homes, one does not see the redistribution of wealth promised in 1945.

THANK YOU: I would like to thank the people of Swanley and surrounding districts for their generosity in donating money at the collection at the Asda in Swanley between December 14 and December 16. More than £2,300 was raised for the Ellenor Hospice.
