WE WOULD like to respond to the Pubspy feature on The Sovereign of the Seas in Petts Wood (Cheap But Far From Cheerful, News Shopper, November 23).
The article referred to the smell within the pub as well as the poor service offered on the day.
We would like to assure your readers both these matters are being dealt with by the pub's management.
We also take on board the criticism relating to the pub running out of a number of products at different times.
Once again, we can confirm this is now being addressed.
On a more positive note, we would like to add the pub has been a feature within the Petts Wood community for more than 10 years and continues to be popular with a wide range of customers.
While we acknowledge there are faults within the pub, we feel it is important to recognise the fact management and staff work hard to ensure customers have an enjoyable time when they visit the pub.
