LAST September my friend's twin-axle trailer was stolen from my front garden.
The police were informed but did not trouble to visit my home and we heard no more.
Early in November I fitted a new garage door. By the next afternoon, the lock had been forced and ruined but luckily nothing had been stolen.
The police were informed but no-one troubled to visit my home, although the victim support group did get in touch with me.
It even offered to send someone to counsel me over the lock. What this would cost the taxpayer I don't know.
My garage is now alarmed.
Bring back the birch.
