IT IS always upsetting to read about cases of domestic violence in the press, and your front-page story (Nightmare Has Ended, News Shopper, November 23) does a good job in highlighting the issue.
Your editorial decision in making the case of a man who actually received the minimum sentence possible a front-page story, while another about someone found guilty of sexual assault getting a prison sentence is relegated to page four, is a strange one.
I have to admit to a small interest in the aforementioned case.
Denis Stockton was for more than 20 years a highly respected and inspiring guitar teacher to generations of pupils at various primary schools of which we were privileged to be one.
While I suspect this is not regarded as "news" in your sense of the word, it is no less true after the events reported, than it was during his years of service.
