I have been commuting to London and parking in Parrock Street car park for 17 years, since the closure of Lord Street and Eden Place car parks.

I have missed eight trains into London and four meetings whilst I and other commuters drive around aimlessly looking for parking close to the train station, which are all full.

The street pay and display are for two hours max, so there is nowhere left to park for a full day (imagine the stress before you even get to work).

Park and ride is fine if you're on a fun day out, but unfortunately some of us have to work.

What will happen in January when Parrock Street car park is closed for refurbishment? Why didn't they think to refurbish before closing down Lord Street and Eden Place?

There are no long-term benefits to this nightmare situation.

Councillor John Burden says as people adjust "our long-term strategy for parking is more in tune with what people need" - what rubbish. This will kill a major town like Gravesend. It just managed to survive Bluewater - it will not survive this.

People will not shop if parking is a problem and people will move away. I will have to move if parking problems don't improve.

Gravesend will be left to the unemployed, then the parking problems will be solved!
