I AM a pensioner who is being treated unfairly over council tax.
I live in a row of terrace houses of identical size and design except I am on the end.
My house is in band G, which costs nearly £2,000 a year.
My next door neighbour who was a band F property has successfully had his band reduced to an E and has received a £2,000 refund.
All my calls to the District Valuation Office to review my banding have fallen on deaf ears.
Could anybody tell me whether or not, if I refused to pay until the matter is thrashed out, would I be safe from bailiffs?
I wouldn't mind going to prison but I do not want my furniture impounded.
