IN REPLY to the letter from Mrs Last (Hospital Good Except The Food, News Shopper, November 16) regarding my letter of October 26 about five-star treatment at Queen Mary's Hospital.
I know Mrs Last and was very sorry to read her little grandson had been so ill but was pleased to learn he also received first-class treatment from the nursing staff.
I understand thankfully he is now well on the road to recovery.
As to her criticism of the food, vegetarian diets are not catered for in the children's ward unless there are religious or medical reasons and perhaps past experience has proved salad is not often chosen by young children.
Maybe it would be a good idea for children who like salad to be able to order it.
I was able to choose a non-meat option and salad twice a day, every day during my two-week stay in the Mottingham Ward.
